INFRASTRUCTURE INSPECTION

STRUCTURAL AND HYDRAULIC EXPERTISE

Our PE-led team specializes in above/underwater inspection, repair design and cost estimating for marine/bridge facilities. Our 25 years of experience includes the inspection of and reporting on hundreds of piers, bridges, dams, ferry and ship terminals, marinas, docks and water tanks across the country for many different types of owners and agencies. Our underwater inspection activities have included industrial, commercial, military and residential facilities, for which we have composed condition reports, recommended design repairs and provided accurate cost estimates. We both dive and climb!

REMOTE OPERATED VEHICLES

SUBMARINE AND AERIAL CAPABILITY

We bring comprehensive light-duty inspection ROV and drone capabilities through both in-house and close partnership expertise and equipment. Our team has the background engineering and inspection knowledge necessary to deploy these tools in a productive manner that enhances our effectivenss and safety, as well as adding quality useful information to our deliverables. Not only can we operate the technology, but we know what to look for and how to interpret the data and imagery.

MAPPING AND UNDERWATER IMAGERY

GEO-REFERENCED SONAR MAPPING AND FATHOMETER SURVEYS

Our in-house and close partnership capabilites in mapping and imagery, combined with structural and hydraulic engineering expertise, enables us to provide a range of services from light and fast fathometer surveys for bridges and culverts, to as-built and existing conditions mapping, to underwater survey support. Our team has in-house and close partnered access to a myriad fleet of capable vessels for both coastal and riverine environs.

bridge scour

Bridge Instrumentation and Scour Modeling/Design

Most bridge and coastal infrastructure fails hydraulically before structurally. Our team brings combined structural and hydraulic experience to the waterfront inspection and design, recognizing and understanding the interaction of these elements. We have the in-house and close-partnered capabilities to collect the survey data needed to two-dimensionally model the structure, install the field instrumentation necessary to field real-world calibrate the model, interpret the results and make scour design recommendations to AE clients.
